Today in the Guardiand and int People and Planet website have been announced the results of 2011 Green League.
DMU has placed 14th out of 138 universities in the People and Planet Green League 2011 and been awarded a First Class award putting DMU at the top of green universities in the UK.
A major improvement on last years award of an Upper Second and 34th place. The league has scored DMU’s approach across a wide range of environmental and sustainability issues including sustainable food, engaging with staff and students and carbon emissions.
DMU have made improvements in both the policy section of the league and the performance area which scores our performance in energy use, waste, carbon emissions and water use in relation to other HEIs. The increase in the score in the performance section is a real reflection on the great work that staff and students are doing to reduce the environmental impact by saving energy, reducing waste, recycling more and saving water.
