made me smile | picnic table topped with living grass

picNYC table by haiko cornelissen architecten

isn`t this a lovely idea for summertime picnic? maybe you don`t have the time to go to the park, or it is raining [not unusual uh?], or you just don`t like to sit on grass and let mosquitos bite your naked and sweet legs…. then you can set the table on your balcony and you`re done! ready for a lunch in nature […kind of…]!

designed by haiko cornelissen architecten [a design firm based in amsterdam and new york], the table is composed by a light aluminun frame that has space inside to be used as a planter bed. the inspiration for the table came to haiko while he spent some time living in paris, and enjoyed wonderful dinners al fresco [i so do not like this expression…!] in his little garden  surrounded by greenery.

if you are not into plants, it is possible to fill the frame with pebbles too. but think at the possibility of growing your aromatic plants [basil, oregano, mint…] directly on the table you use for dining….!

isn`t this a lovely idea for summertime picnic?

The grass seems to me quite wonderful and a good reason to dance on the table barefoot.
