i was really happy to [silently] follow this conversation on twitter last friday. my supervisor Richard asked @sustainabledmu why the lights were on during a perfectly sunny day and he got an immediate response from the DMU environmental network. at the end the sustainability team in the university found out that there was a problem in the setting of the software controlling the lights and corrected it in a suitable way.
amazing, don`t you think? a perfect example of bottom up approach [although starting from a researcher]. sometimes you just need to bring up the problem to the right people and you`ll get it solved! exactly what my research is about…!
